If your current job is not your dream job, even if it's not close to your dream job in any way, the Bible has an advice for you. Ecclesiastes 9:10 - Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might; for there is no activity or planning or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol (the nether world, the place of the dead) where you are going[AMP].
I want you to really take a good look at the Scripture above and note that the Bible didn't say "whatever your heart finds to do", it says whatever your hand finds to do. Trust me, God knows the difference. Many people are waiting to find that heart satisfying job before they begin to do their best, but that is obviously not God's perspective.
If Joseph had kept waiting for his heart satisfying job before he did his best, then that dream job would have never come. If anything would carry your name, I think that thing deserves your best, that your father in heaven might be glorified. God Bless You!

My favorite kind of music are songs that not only sound sweet to the ears, but also have positively thought provoking lyrics, and the song anchored above is a good description of such. My discovery of this song is a testament to my belief that everyone should listen to their music in shuffle mode from time to time, you'd be surprised at some songs you never knew you had.
So while on a bus some nights ago and my music was playing on shuffle, a song came up that captures what has my heart cry for some time now, and I fell in love with the song right away. I had to ask myself again while listening to this song, what have I done with all God has given to me?
Ephesians 1:3 - How we praise God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who HAS blessed us with every blessing in heaven because we belong to Christ[TLB].
If indeed God HAS blessed us with all the blessing in heaven, I want to make much of that, if it is true that goodness and mercies are constantly following me, I want to make much of that, if God daily loads us with benefits, I don't want any of the benefits to ever be wasted. The cross, and the grace that came through it, I need to make much of that. Lord, I've given you my life, "take it and let it be used to make much of YOU". God Bless You!

Do you know that Jesus didn't have to suffer like He did and then go to the cross for Him to defeat the devil, so why did He? The book of Jude says that when angel Michael contended with the devil, he simply said, the Lord rebuke you. My point is that if Michael could contend with the devil, then Jesus didn't have to take such a beating if He didn't want to.
Isaiah 53:5 - But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was crushed for our wickedness [our sin, our injustice, our wrongdoing]; The punishment [required] for our well-being fell on Him, And by His stripes (wounds) we are healed[AMP].
As we celebrate Easter, you must understand that every single punishment Jesus endured, He did because you and I needed it. Every price He paid, He paid so that you and I can live the quality of life He lived. He broke the power of sin, so that you and I can lay claim to His righteousness, and stand boldly before God.
Easter is really special, because it is the time when the purpose of Christmas was fulfilled. Therefore, I pray that this Easter will be special for you, and the most amazing thing that can happen is for you to discover and come to experience all that Jesus did in this season, just for you. God Bless You!

As a child of God, your best days are always ahead of you, irrespective of how good or not so good things have been, and guess what, you were not designed to avoid problems, but to solve them. However, you must understand that you were not designed to solve all the problems in the world, you can't, but you were made for some specific ones. For example, cars were made to solve the problem of transportation, but that is not the only problem in the world right? But for that man that made the car, he has done his part. Therefore, are you working towards doing your part?
Ephesians 2:10 - For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above--spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us][AMP].
You know, it really does excite me to know that God has created some things for me, and He called it a "good" work. Remember, that after God made the universe, He looked at all He had created and said it was good. This means that for you and I to get an idea of the kind of good work God has in mind for us, then we can just take a look at the magnificence of the universe. I don't know what it is, but I believe the Bible says God has prearranged something mind blowing for you and I to accomplish on this earth, and for me, I am determined to find mine. God Bless You!

It is not what a man does that determines whether his work is sacred or secular, it is why he does it - A.W. Tozer. I saw this quote while going through a very impactful devotional on the YouVersion Bible app titled Passion: The bright light of glory by Louie Giglio, and I must confess that I thoroughly enjoyed every single bit of that devotional.
Now, just think about that quote again, if it is not what a man does but why he does what he does that determines if what he does is sacred or secular, then it means anything and everything can be either sacred or secular. It means a man can be a pastor and his pastoral assignment can be secular while another man is a businessman, yet his dealings are sacred.
It also means that the fact that you work in a bank, school, hospital, law firm, entrepreneur, whatever doesn't make what you do any less sacred when compared to your pastor if you've got your "why" right. So why do you do what you do? Why are you pursuing that particular kind of life/future?
Matthew 5:16 - Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good deeds and moral excellence, and [recognize and honor and] glorify your Father who is in heaven[AMP].
If bringing glory to the One who made you is not at the core of your "why", then you need to make it sacred sacred. God Bless You!

Just in case you are one of those who think you are doing your church a favour by attending service, you better stop deceiving yourself and realize that you are actually doing yourself more favour. As much as churches like to make their members welcome and special, you must understand that the only MVP/VIP in every service is God through the Holy Spirit.
Yes, when you attend a service, your presence is a blessing to that service because you carry God's blessing, but you must also know that you are also blessed by attending, so it's more like a blessing exchange. Deuteronomy 32:30 - How could one person chase a thousand or two people make ten thousand flee? Their rock used these people to defeat them and the Lord gave them no help[GW].
You see, the verse above implies the exponential force multiplication that happens when God gets involved in a matter. One handles a thousand and two - ten thousand, so we can say that a service of two people has the potential of generating 10,000 units of spiritual energy/substance over any matter. So is it not obvious that each individual is doing himself a favour by coming to that service because there he can do more than he would have accomplished fellowshiping alone in his house?
Hence, for every service you have an opportunity to attend, thank God brcause it's an opportunity you to do more. God Bless You!

Whenever you are wronged by an individual and you are advised to "leave it for God", do you really know what that means? Most times, people make "leave it for God" sound like let yourself get cheated for nothing or just act the fool and move on, but id like you to know that one of the best things you can do in any matter to leave it for God.
When Abraham wanted to settle the contentions between his servants and Lot's servant, he asked Lot to select the land he wanted and Lot chose the best part and Abraham decided to do what, "leave it for God". Abraham could have contended with Lot and He would seem right and logical, but he didn't and you know how the story ended.
Also, after David had killed Goliath and saved his people from becoming slaves to the Philistines, Saul, who was the King got jealous of David and wanted him dead. Even when David had the chance to kill Saul, David decided the best thing to do was "leave the matter for God". Now consider Joseph, first it was his brothers, then it was Potiphar's wife, but through it all, he always knew he had to "leave it for God" and as he did, we all can see God didn't disappoint.
Romans 12:19 - Again, my loved ones, do not seek revenge; instead, allow God’s wrath to make sure justice is served. Turn it over to Him. For the Scriptures say, “Revenge is Mine. I will settle all scores”[VOICE].
You see, whenever you decide to "leave it for God", God makes sure you get paid. Now look at the life of those examples and ask yourself, would it have been possible for them to reward themselves the way God rewarded them? God is a just God, He serves justice all the time. When you hand matters over to Him, He executes Justice, and when you repay the person yourself, God's justice also means He can't get involved again else it would double jeopardy. Now, are you ready to "leave it for God"? God Bless You!

Do you know that God will never complain that your disturbance is too much even if you ask Him about every single detail of your life? Think about it, isn't that what lovers do? I'm sure you'd agree that when you are in a relationship with someone who hardly shares any part of their life with you, you begin to doubt if that person truly loves you. Likewise, what difference do you think it will make if you will only let God into all the details?
Proverbs 3:5-6 - Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart And do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, And He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way][AMP].
If the Bible says you should acknowledge the Lord in "all" your ways, then I want to believe that all actually means all. Don't forget that God is not asking you to do this because He just wants to make your life difficult. On the contrary, He says doing it will help smoothen your path through life because He'd clear out the obstacles. Hence, you can start a new walk with God from today, deciding that henceforth, you will acknowledge Him in all your ways. God Bless You!

Do you know that God didn't write the Bible to all of us, He actually wrote the entire Bible for YOU. What is the difference someone might ask. Well, when you think the Bible is written to all of us, there is a tendency for you to assume some sections of the Bible are might for some people while only certain sections applies to you, but when you know everything is written to you alone, then you can take instructions from every section.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 says - The whole Bible was given to us by inspiration from God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives; it straightens us out and helps us do what is right. It is God’s way of making us well prepared at every point, fully equipped to do good to everyone[TLB].
You see, every story and every character is actually a parable for your life and the different stages you'd go through. From the day you are born till the day your time on earth is done, every experience you'd have has already been mirrored in the Bible and Jesus died to ensure that the Bible is fulfilled in your life. Therefore, make that mental switch from seeing the Bible as a general document to a personal manual. You can only make the best of YOU when you follow the instructions of your maker, and all these are stated in your Bible. God Bless YOU!

If today, you get an unshakable assurance that come 2019, you would the next president of Nigeria, do you think there's any temptation that would be strong enough to make you commit fraud between now and then? Even if you've never been the straight forward type, from the moment you get that assurance of such a lofty promise, you'd never want to do anything that could jeopardize the promise. So may I ask, what are you willing to sacrifice now just to preserve that future that you see/seek?
I'd like to believe that Joseph must have thought about Potiphar's wife's offer when she started to give him the "green lights", weighed it against the dreams God had given to him and decided it wasn't worth it. He must have been so convinced that God's promise was worth so much much more that he was willing to suffer undue punishment that to preserve the dream he had seen.
You see, just like life doesn't support vacuum, I believe we are also not wired to just sacrifice or give up something we really want without having something better in view. The 4 Hebrew boys didn't just give up their portion of the menu from the king's table for nothing, I believe they were convinced they were getting something more valuable in return.
Hebrews 12:2 - Keep your eyes on Jesus, our leader and instructor. He was willing to die a shameful death on the cross because of the joy he knew would be his afterwards; and now he sits in the place of honor by the throne of God[TLB]. Even Jesus, didn't come to die on the cross for nothing, He knew what He will get afterwards will be worth all the suffering and pain he'd have to go through.
Therefore, if indeed you have seen a future so bright that you know only God can make it happen through you, the question I'd like to ask you is, what are you willing to give up to get it? God Bless You!

It's easier to believe you are valuable when life has been good to you, in fact, people would most probably find it easy to find you valuable. However, believing you have value after multiple setbacks or disappointments can be difficult, but, I must tell you, even after several failures, you are still valuable.
Think about it, some items are valued based on their purity e.g gold. The purer they are, the more valuable they are perceived to be. However, that's not the only form of value there is. For example, some art works are just a masterful combination of junks, yet when put together, the same useless junks now worth millions.
Last year, a painting by a Nigerian born artist was sold for $1.1 in London, another painting from another artist was sold here in Lagos for 46M naira. These paintings are not so valuable because they were painted using special paints or brushes, but because of the techniques and creativity of the painter. Likewise, even if you consider your life to be a pile of junk, in the hand of God, it is the perfect resource for a masterpiece.
Psalms 126:1 - It seemed like a dream, too good to be true, when God returned Zion’s exiles[MSG].
Therefore, no matter who you are and what your experience has been, there so much value in you and God can't wait to show you off to the world. God Bless You!

Each believer has received a gift that manifests the Spirit’s power and presence. That gift is given for the good of the whole community - 1 Corinthians 12:7[VOICE]. According to the preceding verse, each believer, which means you and I and everyone that has confessed Jesus as their lord and saviour has received a gift from God, but why everyone?
Just think about it, why would God bother to give you a gift at all if it's just going to be a decoration in your life. If the manifestation of the Spirit is meant for just ministers i.e Pastors, teacher, apostles, evangelists, etc, then why bother giving that manifestation to everybody? This suggests that while everyone might not have been called to the ministry as we know it, everyone has been called to an assignment that requires the manifestation of the Spirit.
Therefore, I believe Apostle Peter must have gone back to preach to his former colleagues in the fishing business and I believe some of them must have given their lives to Christ. So, while the manifestation of the Spirit in Peter helped him in his apostolic work, the manifestation of the spirit in his former colleagues too would have been see in their fishing business. Likewise, Matthew the tax consultant would have also gone back to minister to his colleagues, and when they received the Spirit, He must have manifested in their career.
Hence, you don't have to be a Pastor, teacher, preacher or prophet for the Spirit to manifest in you. If it was given to every man, then it means every man needs it. If you are born again, then you have the Spirit in you, but has He found an expression in you, or you just like Him dormant? God Bless You!

I think I now know why sex appears to be the most difficult temptation for young people these day, but before I go on, let me share an experience with you. A few days ago, two married older friends of mine, ladies, decided to advise me about sex based on the discussion were having before I went to join them.
Lady A said, young man, as much as possible, wait for your wedding night, it's the most wonderful thing ever. Lady B interrupted, no, you should be telling that to the lady, not the guy. She continued, two of them should not be inexperienced abeg, that experience would be too "clumsy", the guy should have some experience. Lady A replied, I think it's better they learn and grow together. You can imagine how awkward I was feeling by now, but then I could't help but wonder, if the guys should get experience but the lady should wait till she says "I do", so who would the guy practice with, another guy's girlfriend?
Do you want to know why sexual temptations seems to be so hard to shake off? Media! In my opinion, sexual temptations appears so difficult because the media has trained us over time to respond in a certain way love and the emotions around it, they have confined love to sex and it's expressions and they did this with beautiful stories and images that are hard to forget. Hence, when we attempt to find expression for the love within, like Sherlock Holmes, the scenes that play in our head before we make any move are scenes planted by the media.
My aim is not to judge or condemn anyone, I just want to remind you of what God has empowered and requires of you. Ephesians 5:3-4 - But sexual immorality and all [moral] impurity [indecent, offensive behavior] or greed must not even be hinted at among you, as is proper among saints [for as believers our way of life, whether in public or in private, reflects the validity of our faith]. Let there be no filthiness and silly talk, or coarse [obscene or vulgar] joking, because such things are not appropriate [for believers]; but instead speak of your thankfulness [to God][AMP].
I know what is said about sex in the world we live in, but who's report will you believe? God Bless You!

Are you sure you haven't misunderstood "the great commission"? Just in case you are not familiar with that term, it is the phrase generally used to describe Jesus' last instruction to every Christian. Here it says in Mark 16:15 - Go out into the world and share the good news with all of creation[VOICE], many other versions replace "creation" with everyone, everywhere, and I'd like us to consider the implications of that.
All creations, suggests everything that has been created, which includes both living and non living things, right? So, how then can you and I preach the Gospel to a non living thing, or to animals? You know, I've grown to become a firm believer that church gatherings are meant to equip us, but the real work is outside the church, in our everyday activity.
Therefore, when Jesus said you should go preach the Gospel everywhere, I'm sure he was thinking about your office, school, playground, market, and anywhere else you come in contact with people. Also, while we are used to preaching with words, let's not forget that it is said that actions speak louder than the voice, so you don't have to open your mouth to tell the world about Jesus.
Secondly, I believe "all creature" also refers to preaching through the work of our hands. When you solve a problem, you just preached the Gospel, when you create a vaccine that saves the life of men or animals, you just preached the Gospel. When you invent something that makes life easy for many, you just preached the Gospel, whatever it is that you do that when men see the good work, they can thank God that thing has been done is an avenue to preach the Gospel.
Remember, even when God used to come down to meet with Adam in the garden, most of his time was spent in the garden working on all God had made. Likewise, after you had your fellowship with God, remember the world is waiting to hear the Gospel from you. God Bless You!

Wherever two, three or more are gathered together in God's name, your inclusion in that number is very important. Today, I'd like to discuss three examples from the Bible that would show the role you play and these should help you take your contribution to church services or any other spiritual gathering more seriously.
If it wasn't documented in the Bible, would you have believed that the unbelief of people around hindered the flow of God's power through Jesus. Just think about it, a whole Jesus, 100% man and 100% God, "could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them"[Mark 6:1-6]. I'm sure you'd agree that Jesus was always full of God's anointing, yet in this case the output was low, so you see that "dry" gatherings are not always due to a lack of anointing?
Case 2: I believe you already know what happened at the tower of Babel, and it case you don't, well, some guys decided to build a tower that would get to heaven. It wasn't stated how high they went, but they did enough to get God's attention (maybe the current world's tallest building isn't even as tall as what they did, who knows). However, "the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do". Please note, there was no mention that this people were anointed, all they had was unity.
Psalms 133:1-2 - Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brothers to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious oil [of consecration] poured on the head, Coming down on the beard, Even the beard of Aaron, Coming down upon the edge of his [priestly] robes [consecrating the whole body][AMP].
I hope you see that as much as the anointing is very important, which might not always require your input, unity is also very important, and this requires your input. To show that, think about the day of Pentecost, it was recorded that "they were all with one accord in one place". Hence, i guess we can conclude that a united church is a powerful church, and you have a role to play in that unity. God Bless You!

Hey! Have you been searching for a tool that can help you understand the Bible better? Do you need a devotional that is tailor made for you, one who's writer seems to have read all about your experiences and then wrote the devotional just to answer the burning questions in your heart? If any of the questions above applies to you, then I have the solution you've been searching for, it's called the "YouVersion" bible app.
Most people actually do have this bible app on their devices, I'm guessing it's the most popular bible app around, if not in the world. However, many of us do not know that what you have in that Bible app is a treasure chest of spiritual resources because all we do is just open it when we have to, we haven't really bothered to explore it's features.
YouVersion is a free Bible app that is available for all devices, and of all the Bible apps I know, there is none that has as much translations that can be downloaded for free for offline use. This app contains thousands of devotionals tailor made for different needs. With topics ranging from relationship, money, faith, tithe, spiritual growth, sex, addiction, etc. There is hardly any topic you need that you won't find multiple devotionals to select from, all of which are solidly Bible based. The app even has tools that helps you share on all the major social media platforms, connect with friends and share with them, take notes, bookmark, and even make images from Bible verse that you can then share online. Trust me, this app is cool.
I've come to find out that most of us actually desire to grow spiritually, but the issue is that many are not ready to put in the effort required for that growth. Galatians 6:8 - If they plant to satisfy their sinful selves, their sinful selves will bring them ruin. But if they plant to please the Spirit, they will receive eternal life from the Spirit[NCV].
Nothing happens without prayer, so I'd advice you always pray, asking the Holy Spirit to teach whenever you want to read the Bible. As you know, a good material helps you understand your teacher better, and I can tell you this, the YouVersion Bible app is a great material. God Bless You!

Have you ever seen labels from two different designers on the same dress? Yes, I have. I know some people don't even know what I'm talking about, but if you attended public primary and secondary schools like I did, then you must have seen a Tommy Hilfiger label and a Nike label sitting on the same dress.
You see, back then, when your uniform gets burnt by an iron or a nail in class makes a hole in your uniform, one of the quickest solutions is to cut off the labels from one of your shirts and use that label to cover that bad spot on the dress. Hence, you will find people who had up to 3 or 4 different labels on their shirt because it's possible that their parents can't afford to change that uniform just yet.
You see, whenever you make a mistake and come to God forgiveness, I need you to understand that God doesn't just patch your sins with the blood of Jesus, i.e God doesn't just cover your sins with the blood of Jesus. The issue with patching is the fact that every time that patch/cover is seen, there is a reminder of what happened the necessitated the patching.
The problem with most of us is that when we fall short and ask for forgiveness, we let guilty conscience keep us out God's love, thinking God still remembers how we disappointed Him. But Hebrews 8:12 says - I will be merciful when they fail, and I will erase their sins and wicked acts out of My memory as though they had never existed[VOICE].
The blood of Jesus blots out sin whenever you ask God for forgiveness, and when you come before God, He doesn't even remember you ever sinned because there is no patch of sin on you, not even a trace. Even when you feel dirty, the most effective "soap" is in the presence of God, so always run to Him. God Bless You!

Growing up, we had these "special" plates and cups in my house, items that were hidden in a special part of my Mom's cupboard that none of us would dare go to except there's a special celebration or something like that. Now, I still see some of those same items when cleaning the house and guess what, there's nobody interested in using any of those plates for a regular meal because those plates and cups are so out of fashion.
Likewise, I believe there are elements of our salvation that would only be useful here on earth and by the time we get to heaven, you won't have need of them anymore. So if I may just ask you, what difference is being born again making in your life? Are you satisfied with just being born again and living a normal life or do you desire a supernatural experience with it.
1 John 3:2 - My loved ones, we have been adopted into God’s family; and we are officially His children now. The full picture of our destiny is not yet clear, but we know this much: when Jesus appears, we will be like Him because we will see Him just as He is[VOICE].
My thought is, if it is certain that we would be like Him when we finally meet Him face to face, then what stops you and I now from being just like Him while He was physically here on earth? You see, when I get to heaven, I don't want to be like those plates in my house that have never been used because we kept reserving them for a special occasion till their season passed and now they are too old to fit into any occasion.
Remember, there is a time and a season for everything, so what are you supposed to do in this time with the relationship you have with God? I want to get to heaven and know that I do not just look like Jesus, but I also lived like Him. God Bless You!

As far I'm concerned, Mango or Pineapple juice is the best, in that order. After those two, every other kind of juice is just okay. While i have to admit that some of those juice combinations with a variety of fruits are really nice, some of which have a combination of up to five different fruits, I think I'd still stick to my number one and two.
Galatians 5:22-23 says - But the fruit of the Spirit [the result of His presence within us] is love [unselfish concern for others], joy, [inner] peace, patience [not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting], kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law[AMP].
Some days ago, I reminded you that every man is made up of the Spirit soul and body, which can be likened to a bottle with a liquid content. The liquid content is the Spirit and when we give our lives to Christ, God gives us a new Spirit, which is like changing the liquid content in a bottle, even though the container remains the same.
Now, in view of the verse above, I want you to look at your Spirit, your liquid content like a combination of different fruits e.g a citrus blast which contains oranges, lemons and some other fruits. You see, in these combinations, the taste of a particular fruit may be hard to pick out, but guess what, it's there. The most important thing, which is the nutrient contained in that fruit is available in the mix, even though the mix appears to have a different kind of taste.
Likewise, as soon as you give your life to Christ, your new life(content) comes with a blast of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Your mind might play a trick on you that you've never had one or two of these traits, but the fact that you can't "taste" it yet is not proof of their absence, you just need to acknowledge their presence and as you do, the nourishment becomes more obvious in you. God Bless You!

Anchor Song: Give To The Lord

I heard two ladies talking about how difficult things have been and one said to the other, "things have not been easy, I gave my first fruit in January". The other lady said, "what is first fruit again? All these churches will just looking for ways to take people's money. Sometimes, I don't even tithe because the church appears to be richer than her members. So why should i give for others to enjoy while i suffer".
I'm not here to claim any moral high ground, so I won't be pointing accusing fingers, but that conversation between those ladies shows the mindset with which many of us give in our churches. Hence, the first thing I'd like to say is that any biblical principle you apply that seems to increase your burden must have been done in error. It is either the principle is wrong or your application of that principle is wrong.
Why do we give? While we have it at the back of our minds that when we give, God will cause an abundance to come back to us. Let's not forget that what we are giving also came from God. It is God that gives seed to the sower and bread to the eater. So every act of giving is first a show of appreciation for what God first gave, before it is an investment into the kingdom.
Who do we give to? It is very important to always remember that God is the one we are giving to, even though it is men that collect it. If you want to give, you have to give as unto God and take your eyes off what whoever does with it. Remember, one day each person will stand to give an account of their actions before God.
Finally, Apostle Paul said in 2 Corinthians 9:7 - Each of you should give as you have decided in your heart to give. You should not be sad when you give, and you should not give because you feel forced to give. God loves the person who gives happily[NCV]. The Living Bible[TLB] says "Cheerful givers are the ones God prizes".
Therefore, is it possible that many acts of giving seems to go unrewarded because the givers gave what they were not happy about? So, I'd advice that whenever you want to give, let it be what your heart can cheerfully release, it might not always be convenient, but your heart is satisfied. There is nothing wrong in giving what you have first, then ask God to provide what you don't have. After all, He gives seed to the sower... God Bless You!
